Upgrade

Yes, readers, we're changing the status of my blog from "Abandoned" to "Neglected"! I feel the same sort of joy the Bluths did when their stock was upgraded from "Sell" to "Don't Buy".

A quick wrap-up on old subjects. The LC, who became the x-LC, then the VSB (Very Stupid Boy) moved back up to the Bay Area after quitting the grad school program around October. I didn't see him for a few weeks, then when we did see each other, we both managed to carefully pretend nothing had ever happened and we were still friendly. And around Christmas, we went out for beers one more time. And kissed one more time. And damn him for being such a great kisser. Because he has dropped off the radar again, with no particular reason why. I'm handling this round much better, though. In fact, I saw him in the lobby of our building the other day and it took me a minute to register it was him. Because I was thinking "That guy doesn't look homeless, so much as he looks like he's in the middle of a camping trip." I mean seriously. Who wears their Gore-tex jacket and skull cap and jeans and hiking shoes to work in the middle of the week. Dude, you're a lawyer. Look like you can pretend to be a lawyer.

As for the job, it's better. I'm off the terrible case that was sapping me of my will to live, but still friends with the people on my team who made it bearable. The new case is actually one that gathers a lot of publicity, so it's exciting to be a part of it. Still don't think law is my calling. Still debating whether I can stick it out for several years, per my "GRAND PLAN".

I'm in my third band project now - a funk workshop. It's a little intimidating. Will require some liquid courage.

Have rediscovered my sort of secret desire to be a sports fan, and have been enjoying following the Stanford mens' basketball team. Those Lopez boys are something. I'm even trying to figure out what's going on in other college hoops action, so I may have informed opinions when March madness hits this year.

Alas, still no wireless access at home. Can't say I will continue to blog regularly. Or sporadically. I will aim for... occasionally.
